Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Val Gardena is one of Europe's best-kept ski secrets, a beautiful valley of three villages nestled inamongst the Dolomites in the Italian region of South Tyrol.
It is a place of raw Alpine beauty - in fact, it was recently granted UNESCO World Heritage status in recognition of its stunning scenery. More importantly though, Val Gardena is also a Mecca for serious skiing pleasure. There are more than 175 km of in-bound pistes to explore, from Val Gardena in the middle of the Dolomiti Superski-region, you can access to 200 lifts and 500 slope-kilometers, for example - not including the iconic Sella Ronda, a world-famous 65 km circuit which takes in four villages around the Sella mountain.
The Val's three picturesque villages bridge the cultural gap between Austria to the north and Italy in the south, making for an intriguing mix of Teutonic efficiency and Italian charm and cuisine that really has to be experienced to be believed.
And now, Val Gardena and Crystal have teamed up with The Independent to offer a very special prize - a seven-day skiing holiday there for two. The prize includes flights, ski hire and a twin/double room in the brand new, contemporary-styled Saslong Smart Hotel in the village of Santa Cristina and 2 Dolomiti Superski passes.
It couldn't be simpler to enter - just fill in your details below to be entered into the prize draw.
