Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Today: The Easton Walled Gardens reopen for Snowdrop Week in Lincolnshire. Visitors will be treated to a carpet of delicate white flowers along the riverbanks and on the forest floor, while talks are provided courtesy of the gardeners ( eastonwalledgardens.co.uk).
This week: On Monday, W London is unveiled in Leicester Square. The hotel is aiming to regenerate this insalubrious area of Soho with 192 rooms, a spa, South-east Asian restaurant, sleek bar and countless glitter balls ( wlondon.co.uk). Elsewhere in the city, Dinosaurs Unleashed opens at the O2 on Friday. The exhibition features life-size dinosaurs, a CGI prehistoric aquarium, fossil displays and talks ( dinosaursunleashed.co.uk). In Singapore, an ambitious exhibition on Genghis Khan is being staged at the new ArtScience Museum, from Friday ( marinabaysands.com/ArtScienceMuseum).
In the diary: Ryanair has announced that it will start flying to Rhodes from Stansted and Liverpool in April, adding a no-frills option to the charter flights already operating to the island ( ryanair.com).
