Travel Agenda: Snow Season Opening Weekend in Victoria; A Taste of Spain; Robert Mondavi's charity festival
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

This week
Pata negra ham, paella, padrón peppers – these are just a flavour of Spain's gastronomic heritage. And tomorrow on Regent Street in London, you can enjoy A Taste of Spain at this one-day event with food, live music and dance (atasteofspain. co.uk). Around the corner on Oxford Street, John Lewis is offering free Holiday Snaps Workshops this summer in the audio-visual department (johnlewis.co.uk). Also in the capital, Chris Bradley, guidebook author and founder of specialist tour operator Simoon Travel, will be sharing his expert tips on travel to Libya at the Royal Geographical Society on Wednesday (rgs.org/travel).
In the diary
The pioneering winery of Robert Mondavi in California's Napa Valley stages a charity festival from 3-24 July, with concerts from the Afro-Cuban All Stars and more, plus wine-tasting (robertmondavi.com).
