Packaged paradors

EasyJet Holidays has teamed up with the state-owned collection of 94 heritage properties across Spain to offer inclusive packages. Examples include a four-night stay at the Parador de Vic-Sau in Catalonia for £283pp, with flights from Gatwick to Barcelona (easyjetholidays.com).

Air Arabia Maroc has started flights from Gatwick to Morocco's northernmost city, with fares typically starting at about £160 return (airarabia.com).

A new website gives UK travellers fare comparisons on some high-speed rail routes across Europe, with tips on how to find the cheapest ticket (itinerail.com).

Mayan marvels

The Mexican beach resort of Cancun has unveiled the Maya Museum, with 350 archaeological artefacts and two exhibition spaces. On display at present are 14,000-year-old skeletal remains discovered in underwater caves near Tulum (cancun.travel).

Stylish Shanghai

On Thursday, Shanghai gets a new hotel when Starwood opens Twelve at Hengshan. Expect modern Asian interiors, 121 rooms with Oriental silk screens, Hermès toiletries and terraces overlooking a garden (luxurycollection.com).
