The Teatro Colon opera house will reopen on Monday after two years of renovations, and parties will build up to the 200th anniversary of the May Revolution on Tuesday ( bicentenario.argentina.ar ).
This week: From Wednesday to Sunday, Art Amsterdam will exhibit modern art from 120 galleries from the Netherlands, Europe and Asia ( www.artamsterdam.nl ).
In the diary: In Singapore, the colonial grand dame hotel The Fullerton will be joined by a sister property, the Fullerton Bay Hotel, on 1 June. The modern sibling is the first hotel to open on the new Marina Bay waterfront development ( fullertonbayhotel.com ). Another Latin American celebration is taking place closer to home. Tour operator Journey Latin America is honouring its 30th birthday with a free private screening of Viva Zapata! staring Marlon Brando on 3 June at the Soho Hotel in London ( journeylatinamerica.co.uk ).
