Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The hotel

LA's style-setting landmark hotel Mondrian (mondrian hotel.com) reopens this week after a sparkling overhaul by designer Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, with vivid colours and custom-designed furniture inspired by Gaudi's Park Guell.

The journey

All aboard Central Europe's first luxury train The Danube Express ( danube-express.com) visiting 12 destinations including Transylvania and the Tatra Mountains. Luxury sleeper cars are among the perks: essential for the 11-day, London-to-Istanbul run.

The spa

Myhotel Brighton ( myhotels.com) gets flash treatment rooms. A new mews house conversion is home to Jinja, a French-Japanese beauty salon and gym. Treatments range from 15-minute head massages to the 90-minute mosqueta rose healing wrap.

The deal

Take a cheap short break to Scandinavia with DFDS ( dfds.co.uk). A three-night break to Denmark's coastal region of Ribe starts at £140 per person (foot passengers) including hotel stay and return ferry crossings from Harwich to Esbjerg.
