The hotel
Could Las Vegas get any glitzier? It will do next week, when the Nobu Hotel opens. The venture between chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro has the world's largest Nobu restaurant (nobucaesarspalace.com).
The book
In the Spirit of Miami Beach is a new book published by Assouline, revealing its colourful, streamlined architecture and its history; there's also a guide to places to stay, shop and eat; £30 (assouline.com).
The flight
Garuda returns to Gatwick from the autumn. Six non-stop flights will operate each week to the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. It will broaden options for stopovers to Australia (garuda-indonesia.com).
