Members of the RMT union are to hold three 24-hour strikes on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in London, it was announced today.

The dispute concerns extra payments following the introduction of a third carriage to DLR trains.

RMT members have been instructed not to book on for shifts on Friday July 23, Tuesday July 27 and Friday August 6.

Members are also instructed not to accept or work any overtime on Thursday July 22.

RMT general secretary Bob Crow said: "Our members on the DLR have shown once again that they are simply not prepared to take on more work and more responsibility without being properly compensated by the company."
