Something To Declare: Cyprus; two wheels, three countries
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The divided island in the eastern Mediterranean is to get its first flights from a low-cost airline from 26 March. Monarch (right) (08700 40 50 40; www.flymonarch.com) will fly four times a week in summer from Luton to Larnaca - Cyprus's main airport, located on the south coast. One-way fares start at £70, with an extra £20 for an extra-legroom seat.
"Cyprus Airways and British Airways have operated a high-fares cartel to Cyprus for decades which we'll break," says Tim Jeans, managing director of Monarch Scheduled. The airline will provide free inflight entertainment and newspapers during the four-and-a-half-hour flight.
Destination of the week: two wheels, three countries
"Tatras to Tokaj" is the name of a new bike tour organised by Explore (0870 333 4001; www.explore.co.uk) for the coming summer. The 10-day trip begins in Poland's finest city, Krakow, crosses the Tatra Mountains and slices through Slovakia to the Hungarian wine-producing city of Tokaj. The trip, rated as "moderate", costs around £875 - including bike hire, hotel with breakfast, and support staff.
