Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.US powerboat maker Cigarette Racing has expanded its relationship with other motorsports brands to showcase a "menage of motorsports" at this weekend's Miami Boat Show.
Cigarette Racing, known for its collaboration with Mercedes AMG which gave the world the AMG 46' Cigarette at last year's Miami show, this year welcomed sports bike manufacturer Ducati into the fold.
The partnership has resulted in the Cigarette 42X Ducati Edition, customized with Ducati's bold red stripe and boasting a pair of 1,100 HP engine which Cigarette says are a bridge between the SCi engines used in many of its boats and the 1,350 HP engines used for the AMG 46' Cigarette.
It also features a new sound system designed in partnership with JL Audio, which is said to provide immersion rather than "blaring on board music."
In addition to the powerboats and Ducati bikes on Cigarette's stand at the Miami show will be the gullwing Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT-3 race car, specially flown over from Germany for the event.
Visitors can see the The Miami Boat Show, which runs through February 21 in Miami, Florida.
Other highlights of the show include the newly-unveiled Marlow Explorer 97E, the largest Marlow Explorer to date and several new models from Ferretti Yachts, including the Aquariva Gucci, a model customized by Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini.
