From August 26-30, the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York is giving over the whole week to the glamour of ocean travel, screening some film classics which perfectly capture life at sea.
Held at the group's Walter Reade Theater, between Broadway and Amsterdam, movie-goers will be treated to five days of shows such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Lady Eve, Shall We Dance and Royal Wedding.
Of couse, such a season wouldn't be complete without the addition of the most famous cruise ship movie of all time, James Cameron's Titanic, which will be screened in a rare 70mm presentation.
Buffs will also be treated to Ocean Liners in Fact, Fiction and On Screen, an illustrated lecture by Bill Miller, who is a regular on board cruise ships operated by Cunard, which is sponsoring the season.
