Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Town Hall Hotel, which features a restored Edwardian, Neo-Classical fine stone frontage, offers 98 luxury rooms and apartments in close proximity to London's financial district.
The operator, Design Hotels, has opted to keep many of the original interiors, including a council chamber, marble hallways and sweeping staircases, while adding a new rear façade.
The building now contains a mix of bedrooms and apartments, which are available in studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts and mix original furnishing with contemporary furniture and modern kitchens.
Art has been provided by the lively art scene in East London and features six local artists commissioned to create installations throughout the hotel.
The hotel also features a gym, a pool themed around a traditional spa, and a restaurant by Portuguese chef Nuno Mendes.
The East End is undergoing somewhat of a makeover ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games, which city officials hope can rejuvenate the area.
Earlier this year, the exclusive members' club Shoreditch House launched Shoreditch Rooms, a 26-room property open to non-members.
