Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Some of the more popular tourist sites on the island include the Tubbataha Reef, the Secret Lagoon Beach and The Coral Garden where you can go diving, take guided tours and see rare and beautiful sea creatures up close.
One of the 7,107 islands in the Philippines, Palawan is home to one of the new seven natural wonders of the world: The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River.
As the longest underground river, you can take guided boat tours through a five-mile subterranean cave system where you’ll be able to marvel in all the beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Another popular tourist attraction is the Barracuda Lake, one of the two lakes in the Coron Island open to the public. The salt water lake is known for its unique thermoclines with layers of cold, warm and hot water. The distinct change in temperature can be experienced as you go diving in the lake.
