Good to go: Tunisia, Sardinia, Egypt

Tune in to Tunisia
Along with Egypt and Turkey, Tunisia has seen a sharp fall in bookings for this summer. As a result, prices for trips in May look spectacularly cheap. Thomas Cook has a week at the two-star Les Citronniers hotel in Hammamet for £147 per person based on two people departing from Gatwick Airport on 11 May, and including baggage and breakfast.
Seduced by Sardinia
Early May is bargain season in the Mediterranean and using the Thomson charter from Gatwick to Alghero, you can get a last-minute, one-week villa break in Sardinia departing on Saturday, 7 May, for £368pp. The Villa Sarda sleeps six and the price includes car hire. It is close to the up-market Costa Smeralda, with Cannigione beach nearby and there's also a private pool, with sun loungers and a terrace.
Relax like an Egyptian
A luxury stay at the Egyptian resort of El Gouna, just north of Hurghada, is on offer next week at the Sheraton Miramar Resort. A week-long break at this Red Sea retreat, flying from Gatwick with Monarch on 13 May, costs £467 including breakfast. The hotel has a private beach, a series of lagoon-like swimming pools and a wealth of bars and restaurants. The ancient sites at Luxor are a four-hour drive inland.
