Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Continental drift

If you're in need of a weekend culture fix, then take advantage of Airberlin's flash sale to northern Germany. The airline is offering one million tickets to Munster, Paderborn, Dusseldorf, Nuremberg and Hanover from £26 one way, with the offer extended to Salzburg in Austria. The sale ends tomorrow and is available for Stansted and Gatwick departures, plus Manchester to Paderborn for travel between 14 February and 31 May.

Beat it to BA

Nineteenth-century European-style architecture, succulent steaks and tango are just a few obvious reasons to visit Buenos Aires. If you need more incentive, Expedia is offering seven nights in this seductive South American capital from £736 per person. The price includes Air France flights from London City via Paris departing 10 May and seven nights' B&B at the five-star Park Chateau Unique Hotel in the well-heeled Recoleta neighbourhood.

Beach break

It might still be cold and dark outside, but in Thailand the sun will shine until the end of April when the monsoon rains arrive. Cheapflights is offering a 10-night beach holiday in the resort of Patong on Phuket for £749 per person. The price includes Thai Airways flights from Heathrow to Phuket and 10 nights with breakfast at the Seeka Boutique Resort. The deal is valid for selected departures up until 8 April.
