Don't be fooled by the cool, modern décor - oak doors, wooden beams and a 17th-century stone fireplace divulge this hotel's 345-year history. Built by an affluent chef on college land, it was later used as digs. Its Girls' Night In package includes Billecart-Salmon champagne, Maison Blanc chocolates, a beauty treatment, movies and breakfast.
Old Parsonage, 1 Banbury Road, Oxford (01865 310210; www.oldparsonage-hotel.co.uk). The Girls' Night In costs £295 for two.
The Berkeley, London
What better way to prepare for a hard day of shopping in Harvey Nicks than a night at The Berkeley? The hotel has devised a Girls' Night In for those in need of some old-school luxury. Guests are presented with a hat box bursting with sickly treats - a trashy book and CD, a guide to local shops and, best of all, a Bliss Spa goodie bag and Diptyque candle. After a manicure - either in-room or in the spa - girls can select a room-service cocktail from the hotel's Blue Bar and choose a film, which is accompanied by tubs of ice-cream. The rooftop pool and gym provide the opportunity to work off some calories the following morning.
The Berkeley, Wilton Place, London (020-7235 6000; www.the-berkeley.com). The Girls' Night In package costs £320 for two.
The Grove, Hertsfordshire
The Grove dates from 1294, but its high point was in the 17th century when it was home to the earls of Clarendon, and the scene of regular house parties. Fast forward to the present and the country retreat is upping its luxury quotient with a Martinis and Manicures package. Guests begin with manicures in the award-winning Sequoia spa then move on to supper and chocolates in their room, with scented candles and views over the 300-acre gardens. Use of the Sequoia spa with its steam room and saltwater pools is included.
The Grove, Chandler's Cross, Hertfordshire (01923 807807; www.thegrove.co.uk). The Martinis and Manicures package costs £380 for two including breakfast.
Metropolitan, London
This is a package for the more nutritionally-minded. After Nobu bento boxes, chocolate-dipped strawberries and champagne, guests can settle down to a movie with massages and silk kimonos in a Park Suite overlooking Hyde Park. After popping down for a Met Martini in the members-only Met Bar, girls can retire to the comfort of Egyptian cotton bed sheets. And most importantly, breakfast in bed is served the following morning by a personal butler.
Metropolitan, Old Park Lane, London (020-7447 1000; www.metropolitan.como.bz). The Girls' Night In package costs £599 for two.
The Balmoral, Edinburgh
At The Balmoral's Pyjama Party, guests have the run of the Scone & Crombie suite, with its vista of Edinburgh's Old Town. Decorated with velvet throws, rugs and with a log-burning fireplace, one night there may not suffice. A spa therapist is dedicated to the group and use of the spa is included. Sustenance comes in the form of champagne, wine, nibbles and a full Scottish breakfast.
The Balmoral, 1 Princes Street, Edinburgh (0870 460 7040; www.thebalmoralhotel.com). Pyjama parties cost £1,610 based on four sharing a two-bedroom suite.
