Bed and breakfast reservation site bedandbreakfast.com is offering five packages for US-based singles to get away from the romance this Valentine's Day, February 14.

The site has compiled its pick of "unromantic," self-indulgent getaways offered by its network of 10,000 bed and breakfast destinations in the US. The packages are designed to appeal to those who'd rather spend Valentine's Day by themselves or with friends.

Montgomery Inn Montgomery Inn, Versailles, KY - "Me-dom" Package
This inn is inviting people to celebrate "me-dom" by offering a night in. Singles can select a DVD, magazines, CD or book from the library, before relaxing in a whirlpool tub. A specially designed dinner for one is served later, including complimentary wine and truffles. From $139 (€99).

Whitney's Inn, Jackson, NH - "Chairlift Speed Dating Package"
A singles-only package that includes three nights lodging with a singles reception on Friday night. On Saturday, chat to potentials on the five minute chairlift ride at Black Mountain, before heading back to the hotel to enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine and goodies to enjoy with new friend. Guests who introduce the hotelier to their new mates are treated to a free sleigh ride for two on Sunday. The three-night package, offered February 12-15, including all extras, starts at $459 (€325) per person

Avenue Inn, New Orleans, LA - "Get over him"
This package is designed for the recently split - and their friends. Enjoy three nights in a room with two double beds, including welcome shopping vouchers worth $100, a copy of the book He's Just Not That Into You, by Greg Behrendt, two pints of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and a voodoo doll complete with pins. The package also includes a one-hour massage in the spa and starts at $369 (€262) per person.

William Henry Miller Inn, Ithaca, NY - "UnValentine's Day"
Designed specifically for divorcees by divorcees! Divorced managers Lynnette Scofield and David Dier hold their own event on February 15 every year, inviting guests to come and sample their chocolate and dessert buffet and breakfast by firelight from $165 (€117) per night.

L'Auberge Provencale, White Post, VA - "Ultimate Valentine's Girlfriend Getaway"
A private villa for six plays host to the ultimate evening in - hot mulled cider, homemade pastries and cookies by the fire are offered at check-in, followed by a casual supper of soup, salad, artisan breads and cheese, with dessert and wine in the private dining room. Conversation and movies can continue late into the night, before a manicure and pedicure the next morning. This package is available Sunday through Thursday Feb 7-11 for $1250 (€887) for six people.
