Eurostar has announced a flash sale for budget city breaks across continental Europe – but holidaymakers will have to act quick as the savings end today.

The high-speed rail service now has tickets from as little as £35 each way for thousands of seats travelling between Paris, Lille, Brussels, and London.

Fares for £70 return journeys are already live, but the sale ends Thursday 12 September at 23.59pm GMT.

The promotion will apply to most Eurostar trains for travel between 24 September and 27 November, just in time for people who are planning to have a Parisian adventure in one of the world’s most popular tourist cities now the Olympic crowds have dispersed.

While the Olympics and Paralympics have now come to a close in Paris, there are plenty of sites to discover, monuments to visit ,and cafes to grab a pastry, for tourists swapping sunny beaches for city exploration in the autumn period.

Without using the flash sale within these dates, single tickets to Paris Gare du Nord cost up to £169 – over four times the price of the tickets in the sale.

Not all days are covered by the promotion, as some dates surrounding or on the weekends do not offer the budget price range to all the destinations to and from London.

The one-way £35 standard class tickets are available for journeys departing London St Pancras International for Paris Gare du Nord, Brussels-Midi/Zuid and Lille Europe.

Standard class tickets are refundable up to seven days pre-departure and include two pieces of luggage, at a maximum of 85cm long at its widest point and one piece of hand luggage with no weight or liquid restrictions.
