European high speed rail services to resume
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Booking for all Thalys services was suspended in the wake of the accident, but passengers can now book tickets for travel from Monday March 1. A normal service is expected to run on March 1, with a possibility of some disturbances, says the rail operator.
Until then, a reduced service is in operation through Belgium, the hub of Thalys's lines which connect France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Passengers are advised to check at http://www.thalys.com before traveling.
Eurostar, which provides high speed services between London and Paris/Brussels, says that its services will also resume from March 1. Trains leaving from Brussels will depart earlier than originally scheduled and there may also be changes to the first and last departures. There will be a reduced service this weekend and passengers are advised to check http://www.eurostar.com before travelling.
