Deals of the Week: Eurotunnel, DFDS Seaways, Air Bosnia
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

A TRAIN
Eurotunnel's car-carrying trains shuttle between Folkestone and Calais on 365 days a year – but the company (08705 353535, www.eurotunnel.com) makes its highest earnings from leisure travellers during the school summer holidays. If you intend to tunnel your way to France in the summer, book by the end of January for the lowest fare for a trip of more than five days: £147 return for a car and up to nine passengers, saving 40 per cent on standard fares.
A BOAT
The cut-off date for a 40 per cent discount on DFDS Seaways sailings for the year is 28 February. The Scandinavia ferry line (08705 333000, www.dfdsseaways.co.uk) serves Amsterdam, Kristiansand and Gothenburg from Newcastle, and Cuxhaven and Esbjerg from Harwich.
A PLANE
From next month, Air Bosnia (020-7373 7033, www.airbosnia.com) is launching direct flights from Gatwick to Sarajevo and Belgrade. Email sales.london@airbosnia.comand you may be able to secure seats in February or March at the "Weekend Super Saver" fare of £127.50 return to Belgrade, or £138.50 to Sarajevo.
