Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Every so often, Jack Sheldon from Jack’s Flight Club selects a flight deal from the UK for Independent readers that you can’t afford to miss. This week: return flights to Israel or Jordan for £110 return.
This is a double deal from easyJet, which stretches the meaning of “short-haul” with direct flights to the Middle East.
Aqaba in Jordan sits on the Red Sea. It is ideally placed for a trip to Wadi Rum Desert and is also closer to Petra than the capital Amman.
Meanwhile, Tel Aviv in Israel offers spectacular night life, as well as being within an hour of Jerusalem’s old city and just two hours from the Dead Sea.
How to book
Head to Google Flights and enter your departure airport from the list below and your choice of either Aqaba or Tel Aviv as your destination. You may want to add an “easyJet” airline filter to the search, to help find the dates included in this deal.
Use Google Flights’ calendar tool to help you highlight the best travel dates (they’ll show up in green).
This one is best booked directly with the airline and Google Flights will provide you a link to book. If you’re travelling with someone, you can save paying additional £16 “administration fees” per person by booking together.
