Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Every so often, Jack Sheldon from Jack’s Flight Club selects a flight deal from the UK for Independent readers that you can’t afford to miss. This week: return flights to Canada from £305.
Fancy a quick trip to Canada? You might do now, with direct flights in the £300s for a return trip return from all over UK and Ireland on Air Transat.
There are some fantastic options here to visit your choice of Canadian city. Canada-bound flights will often show decent fares during the winter months, but are typically quite pricey during the warmer half of the year. At the moment, Air Transat – rated as North America’s best leisure airline – is showing some fantastic fares on its nonstop routes from London, Manchester, Dublin and Glasgow. Of course, no stops mean no headaches.
How to book
To search for the best dates on this one, I recommend going to Google Flights and selecting your chosen departure and destination airports.
Use a flight search filter to only select 'nonstop' flight options and then click on the calendar tool, which will highlight the best/cheapest travel dates in green.
Once you’ve identified your itinerary, these are best booked directly with Air Transat so there is no need to use an OTA (online travel agent) on this one.
