Carry on kit

Bear necessities
If you fancy yourself as a bit of a bear in the woods, then outdoor survival expert Bear Grylls' new range for Gerber ought to unleash your inner adventurer. Products include a compact fire-starter, emergency kits (whistle, tinder, matches etc) and a rather fearsome-looking parang jungle machete.

Blow up
The latest offering from AeroBed is the durable and PVC-free PakMat. A good proposition for camping trips, active holidays and festivals, the mattress inflates or deflates in one minute and rolls up to be stored inside its hand-pump, making transportation easy. The only downside: its 2kg weight means it's not exactly feather-light.

Hot on the heels of the success of its flash fashion sales, members-only sale site www.cocosa.com has launched a luxury travel division, offering discounts on anything from spa breaks in Europe to half-price hotels in Dubai. Three sales are offered each week, each running for six days.
