SO YOU want to be a TV star, or at least an extra? The price is pounds 1,800, and the work involves joining a fortnight's wildlife riding safari to Mongolia. The tour, which is organised by Steppes East (0285 810267), departs on 9 October with a BBC Television crew in tow.

The team is making a new series on the history and culture of tourism, and will be filming participants as they trek through the Gobi national park, in search of the Gobi bear, the snow leopard and the world's earliest species of horse.
