Have you got your sights set on a staycation this summer? With lockdown restrictions easing gradually, booking a home away from home may be a smart move for holidaymakers.

But where to head first? Airbnb has just revealed the most ‘wishlisted’ homes in the UK, providing a wealth of vacation inspiration with incredible properties available to from Cumbria to Cornwall This is our pick of the crop…

1. The Pigsty, Winchester

Located on a working farm (but tucked away in a secluded spot) this adults-only luxury hideaway is ideal for a romantic escape to the country. With a king size bed, roll top bath and wooden deck to enjoy sunset views, at this cosy bolthole you’ll be happier than a pig in mud.

2. The Willow, Pembrokeshire

With its distinctive curved design, private hot tub and stunning views over the Welsh countryside, this farm property is described as ‘the ultimate in glamping’, but there aren’t any tents involved. With one double bed and two single sleep pods, the stylishly decorated space is perfect for a family getaway.

3. Traditional Log Cabin On The Lake, Kent

Perched on the edge of a serene lake just 10 minutes drive from Royal Tunbridge Wells, this waterside lodge is an oasis of calm. Soak up the sun on the south-facing decking, fire up the BBQ to enjoy al fresco dining, then retire to your cosy cabin (and king size bed) for a restful night’s sleep.

4. Undercover Woodland Treehouse, West Sussex

Take to the trees with this elevated glamping experience. Housed in an ancient oak tree in West Sussex woodland, the treehouse sleeps two (in a proper double bed) and is heated with an indoor fireplace, plus there’s an outdoor fire pit for cooking under the stars. You’ll also have access to a wood fired hot tub on site.

5. Sunset Beach Cabin, Cumbria

This self-professed ‘tiny house’ is a diminutive delight overlooking the Cumbrian coast. Sleeping up to four, the cabin boasts its own sunken hot tub with steps leading down from the deck directly onto a picturesque pebble beach.

6. Toad Hall Luxury Lodge, Norfolk

Floor to ceiling gable windows make this treehouse-style lodge light and bright while affording beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. With a private hot tub, underfloor heating, modern kitchen and two double bedrooms, this is a wonderfully luxurious rural retreat.

7. Airship 001, Sussex

A fabulously eccentric accommodation concept, this woodland wonder sees guests board an airship-inspired aluminium pod. Heated with a woodburning stove, the cute and cosy space sleeps up to three, has a galley kitchen, wooden decking running along one side and panoramic windows at each end letting in lots of natural light.

8. The  Den Scandinavian Cabin, Cumbria

Embrace the ‘hygge’ way of life in this charming Scandi style property located at the bottom of a large family garden in the Lake District. With a barbecue pit in the centre of the wooden cabin, which sleeps two, it’s the perfect place to eat, drink and be merry.

9. The Weekender, Cornwall

Keen to explore the stunning north coast of Cornwall? The Weekender is a fantastic base from which to embark on clifftop walks and take in the seaside views from the cottage’s sun deck. Light and airy with modern decor, it sleeps two, with the option of an additional single bed.
