From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. Many new year cruise deals are coming to an end but passengers are still being encouraged to get on board and hit the high seas with spring offers.
The first couple of months of the year are typically a busy time for cruise lines – known as “wave season” – where companies release new offers to tempt passengers onto winter sailings so they can fill their ships and to secure bookings for the year ahead
The deals usually expire by March but you may be able to depart up until 2027 in some cases.
Promotions can vary from extra onboard credit to discounts on drinks packages or reduced cruise fares.

Booking a cruise holiday is one way of brightening up the winter gloom, giving you something to look forward to in the coming months.
It is important to shop around though to ensure you are still getting value for money and check the total costs including any flights and tips.
