From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. If you’re still undecided on whom you should vote for in the coming election, Tinder is offering a solution to your presidential dilemma.
On Wednesday, the mobile dating company announced Swipe The Vote, a worldwide poll to help users decide the lesser evil between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
Users in more than 15 countries can now take a break from searching for a potential hookup and swipe on the most vital issues facing the American public. The dating app will also hook you up with the nearest polling station in your area.
Tinder teamed up with Rock The Vote to encourage millennials to hit the polls on November 8. Users were first introduced to the feature back in March but it’s back in action between October 26 and November 1.
Sean Rad, the company’s CEO, recently explained that the feature began as a side project within his company.
"We look at Tinder as a broader platform to do good in the world and not necessarily just a business," he recently told Business Insider.
Tinder built the experience with Wedgies, known for its real-time surveys. It’s available in the US, UK, Argentina, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, France, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, and Spain.
