Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Angry Birds is competing against Mad Men's Cocktail Culture app for Best Mobile Games and Best Celebrity/Fansite finds U2, Jay-Z and Tom Petty vying for the top spot.
The nominees include a broad range of websites and blogs culled from last year's pop-culture phenomena, a spoof of the Social Network trailer in the running for Best Viral Video.
Categories include Best Comedy and Best Banner Ad, Weird Website and Best Use of Social Media. Mobile & Apps includes awards for games and news on handheld devices and tablets.

The Webby nominees are awarded by a 750-member academy, including David Bowie and Richard Branson. The final vote will be made by judges including Arianna Huffington and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone.
Winners will be announced May 3 and presented with the Webby Awards on June 13 in New York City. Recipients will accept the honor with the event's traditional five-word thank you speeches. The gala will be streamed live in HD on June 13.
