From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Following its presentation at Gamescom, Sony released a clutch of clips for its new PlayStation Vita, including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, LittleBigPlanet, and Wipeout 2048.

Wipeout 2048 is unabashed in its ambition to become a graphical showcase for the Vita, just as its predecessors did on PS1, PSP, and PS3.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss performs a similar feat, having already secured the Gamescom award for Best Mobile Game.

Some of the others, like Little Deviants, Super Stardust Delta, ModNation Racers and Top Darts, make use of the Vita's touch controls.

Reality Fighters and graffiti game Tag rely on the Vita's camera, much like the Nintendo 3DS's suite of Augmented Reality Games.

Vita versions of LittleBigPlanet and Everybody's Golf (aka Hot Shots Golf) incorporate both touch and camera features.

Hustle Kings is one of the games that go one further, sporting a cross-platform connectivity that allows Vita owners to pair up with those on PlayStation 3.

Everybody's Golf, Hustle Kings and Top Darts also add a turn-based option to what are usually simultaneous, real-time multiplayer modes - not far removed from the convenience of Words With Friends, Carcassone, and Frozen Synapse.
