Twitterers are retweeting the news that VoIP service Skype intends to purchase cross-platform group messaging service GroupMe in the hope of improving its mobile offering.

According to reports Skype will pay “around $85 million for the company.”

Microbloggers are also tweeting about the current situation in Tripoli, the capital of Libya. “Sporadic gunfire & explosions were heard Monday coming from the direction of Libyan leader Gadhafi's Bab al-Aziziya compound inTripoli,” “Gaddafi's sons captured as rebels 'seize 95 per cent of Tripoli'” and “Jubilant Rebels Control Much of Tripoli” tweet people using the eighth and ninth place terms “Tripoli” and “Gaddafi’s.”

The hashtags “#ICanHonestlySay,” “#yeaitjustgotreal” and “#peopleiveseenlive” fill the first three places in Twitter’s most talked about topics and the movies “ Not Another Teen Movie” and “ A Walk To Remember” follow in sixth and seventh places.

Justin Bieber and Chris Brown fans are fighting over who is better with fourth place term “Chris Brown OR Justin Bieber” and posting about the best celebrity couples.  

According to microbloggers the best relationship matches are: “Bella & Edward. They're perfect together because nobody else wants to have to put up with either of those morons,” “Taylor Swift & Taylor Lautner #TswiftSquared“ and “Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens :) They were so perfect and so cute together.”
