Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The display will be launched under Sony's PlayStation brand and will be bundled with a pair of active shutter LCD glasses, a HDMI cable and a copy of sci-fi first person shooter Resistance 3 from Insomniac Games for PlayStation 3.
"Designed to deliver the ultimate gaming experience only possible on the 3D Display, it utilizes new, proprietary technology, that allows two players playing a multi-player game to see individual, unique, full-screen images of gameplay using the bundled 3D Glasses and supported software title," explained Sony while launching the product at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles.
Sony Computer Entertainment president and group CEO Kazuo Hirai also revealed the name of Sony’s next-generation PlayStation Portable - PlayStation Vita - during the company’s E3 keynote presentation.
Sony's 3D display bundle is priced at $499.99 and will be available in Japan, North America, Europe/PAL territories and Asia in fall. Additional 3D glasses are priced at $69.99 per pair.
