The smartphone, which has been rumoured for many months, is expected to be drastically different to every other handset on the market.
It’s expected to be flexible, allowing users to fold and twist it, and change its size to suit their needs.
Samsung inadvertently published a support page for the Galaxy X on its website this week, all but confirming its existence.
The page, which was spotted by MobielKopen, has now been pulled.
Though it revealed very little else about the phone, the fact that Samsung was able to send it live in the first place hints that the company is planning to launch the X very soon.
Also included on the page was the code SM-G888N0, which suggests it may only launch in South Korea, according to Forbes.
It would make sense for Samsung to release the Galaxy X in limited numbers.
The company already has two flagships, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8, on the market right now, and wouldn't want to risk damaging sales with the highly experimental Galaxy X.
Samsung has been known to be working on a foldable smartphone for several years, and has released video teasers of a number of concepts.
What the X will look like isn’t yet clear, but it’s likely to either be able to expand to tablet size, or shrink to the size of a very compact phone.
