From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. The handset, which is expected to launch early next year, will reportedly come in black, blue, gold and purple colour options.
It would be a slight change in direction from the S8, which you can buy in black, grey, blue and silver.
Samsung recently unveiled a burgundy version of the S8 too, but that doesn’t appear to be on the cards for the S9, reports SamMobile.
Several recent leaks suggest the S9 will look very similar to its predecessor, which is still one of the most attractive on the market.
However, the introduction of attractive new colours could still tempt consumers into upgrading.
Reports claim the S9 could be unveiled as early as January, but not at a full-blown launch event.
That is said to be taking place around a month later, possibly at the Mobile World Congress technology conference in Barcelona.
If the phone does make a public appearance before then, it will likely be brief.
The rumoured 5.8-inch S9 looks set to launch alongside a larger, 6.2-inch S9+. Both phones are expected to have 64GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and a headphone jack.
Though they’re expected to look very similar to their predecessors, Samsung is reportedly making at least one major design change.
Instead of lying right next to the camera sensor, as it does on the S8 and S8+, the fingerprint sensor on the S9 and S9+ will instead sit beneath it, which should make it much easier to feel out with your finger.
