A second replacement of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has caught fire, according to US media reports.
Michael Klering, from Kentucky, told a local broadcaster he was "scared to death" when he reportedly woke up and saw his bedroom was "covered in smoke" after the smartphone caught fire.
Mr Klering told WKYT: "The whole room just covered in smoke, smells awful. I look over and my phone is on fire. The phone is supposed to be the replacement, so you would have thought it would be safe. It wasn’t plugged in. It wasn’t anything, it was just sitting there."
It comes just days after another replacement of the Note 7 reportedly exploded on a plane, leading to a mass evacuation of the flight at Louisville Airport.
At the end of September Samsung announced a global recall of the Note 7, saying the problem had been identified and fixed the problem and that the company would give replacement phones to anyone affected.
Samsung suspended sales of the new smartphone after at least 35 cases were reported of phone damage within two weeks of its release.
In response to the latest incident, Samsung told WKYT: "We want to reassure our customers that we take every report seriously and we are engaged with Mr. Klering to ensure we are doing everything we can for him. Customer safety remains our highest priority as we are investigating the matter.“
