Your support makes all the difference.Samsung has quietly taken down adverts mocking Apple’s decision to remove the headphone jack from new iPhones after the Korean tech giant decided to also remove the 3.5mm port from its Galaxy Note 10 devices.
Apple controversially ditched the headphone jack in 2016 when it released the iPhone 7, meaning users needed a dongle to connect traditional headphones.
At the time Samsung released a series of adverts making fun of Apple’s decision, with one showing someone using a massive adapter in order to charge their phone and listen to music at the same time.
Samsung challenged iPhone users to switch to its Galaxy range of smartphones, which until last week all came with a headphone jack.
The launch of the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ saw Samsung follow Apple and other smartphone manufacturers – and not just with the headphone jack.
Despite Samsung removing the videos from its YouTube channel, several copies continue to circulate on the internet.
One of Samsung’s other brags was the ability to expand the internal storage of its devices with microSD cards, however the Galaxy Note 10 rid itself of this capability.
The Galaxy Note 10+ retains a slot for microSD cards, however Samsung still removed an advert that poked fun of Apple for not including this feature.
Google also referenced Apple's lack of headphone jack during the launch of its Pixel phone, but also eventually buckled to industry pressure by removing it from subsequent versions of its flagship phone.
As the last major phone manufacturer to retain the popular port, it appears the headphone jack may soon be consigned to the history books.
