Your support makes all the difference.Dance games are trending and big-name publisher Activision wants in on the action, retiring the Guitar Hero and DJ Hero lines and in their stead prepping Dance Hero to compete with Just Dance and Dance Central.
The story comes from gaming website Kotaku, which also presents a provisional list of songs under consideration: "2012" by Jay Sean, "Out Of Space" by The Prodigy, "Take Over Control" by Afrojack and "The Way I Are" by Timbaland.
Ubisoft's Just Dance series for the Wii reached 10 million worldwide sales in January 2011, with October 2010 sequel Just Dance 2 comprising half of the total.
A third Just Dance game is anticipated in late 2011, with Wii spin-off Dance on Broadway hitting the PlayStation 3 mid-March and Michael Jackson: The Experience due on PS3 and Xbox 360 in April.
Meanwhile, the original creators of Guitar Hero have earmarked a sequel to the Xbox 360 Kinect's Dance Central as its top priority.
Harmonix was behind the very first Karaoke Revolution and Guitar Hero games, as well as Guitar Hero's main competitor in the Rock Band franchise.
