Your support makes all the difference.Sony have announced release dates and prices for their set of PlayStation Move motion controllers for PlayStation 3: out in Europe on September 15, North America on September 19, and October 21 in Japan starting at $49.99.
The Move setup is in fact three separate gadgets. The PlayStation Eye is already at retail for $39.99, the Motion Controller is the main wand that interacts with it and is $49.99, and there is also a Navigation Controller that will go for $29.99. Directly converted into Euros, those prices are €32 , €40 and €25.
Bundled together, they can be had for $99 (€80), or together with a PS3 and a Move game for $399 (€325) - that's how much a 250GB PS3 on its own currently sells for.
A relatively low point for Move software was also offered, at $39.99 instead of the standard $59.99, to sweeten the deal.
As with any new video games hardware launch, having the software to back it up is key, so a host of titles were also confirmed to work with Move's motion controls.
SOCOM 4, Time Crisis, NBA 2k11, R.U.S.E., Killzone 3, SingStar Dance, Echochrome 2, EyePet, Heroes on the Move, Dead Space: Extraction (part of a Dead Space 2 special edition) and TRON Evolution were among the new titles listed.
Some games already released will also be made compatible with the Move control scheme, such as Toy Story 3, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, Heavy Rain, and Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition.
Sony of America president Jack Tretton was keen to underline the other services that come with the PlayStation 3, such as the free online PlayStation Network, and the optional PlayStation Plus subscription. The PS3 system can also play Blu Ray films and has 3D capabilities when hooked up to a 3D capable TV.
Previously at E3, Microsoft had revealed the Kinect camera controller, and Nintendo wowed the audience of assembled journalists with their 3D handheld console, the Nintendo 3DS.
