Your support makes all the difference.With a total number of public votes approaching the one million mark, final tallies deciding the Golden Joystick award winners will be counted up in a little over two weeks' time, ahead of the awards ceremony itself on October 29.
Games on the Golden Joystick shortlist were released between May 2009 and April 2010, with a 'One to Watch' category for those due for release after that point.
Some, like Super Mario Galaxy 2, Halo: Reach, and F1 2010 are now out; Medal of Honor and Fable III will be released by the time of the Golden Joysticks and Call of Duty: Black Ops soon after; others like Gears of War 3, Brink and Zelda: Skyward Sword are not expected until 2011.
In total, there are over 130 distinct titles spread across 16 Game Of The Year categories such as Music, Puzzle, Action, Portable, Online, Sports, Shooter and Racing.
Several games have accrued multiple nominations, including Plants vs Zombies, Heavy Rain, Mass Effect 2, Metro 2033, Final Fantasy XIII, and those in the Dragon Age, Call of Duty, and Assassins Creed series.
The most prestigious Golden Joystick is for the Ultimate Game Of The Year, while there is also a UK Developer award recognizing the best of British talent.
