PS5 restock: New consoles arrive at Best Buy prompting flurry of interest

Your support makes all the difference.The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X is set to be restocked at Best Buy in the US, prompting a flurry of interest.
Since the consoles were release last month, even rumoured restocks have sent fans flocking to any website that might have the new console. In this case, Best Buy unusually confirmed that the new consoles would be arriving in advance.
It said only that they would arrive on Tuesday at “sometime after 8am” central time, without giving any more specific information. That means the consoles could arrive any time after 6am pacific time or 9am eastern time, though it is likely to be soon after that moment.
The consoles will only be available online, the company said, though customers will be able to pick them up in person using the “contactless curtsied pickup” service.
“You don’t even have to change out of your pajamas because these consoles will be sold online only," Best Buy said in a release. "Get your completed order only through curbside pickup.”
Best Buy did not say how many of either the PS5 or Xbox Series X and S would be available through the restock.
The fact the retailer had announced the restock through a press release may lead to hopes that it is a substantial restock. For the most part, stores have failed to announce the arrival of new consoles in advance.
But it could be that the company is doing so to promote a sale that begins at the same time, and was announced in the same release.
In the UK, US and elsewhere, fans have struggled to get hold of next-generation consoles at all, with reports suggesting that much of what stock is available is snatched up by resellers who go on to list them at inflated prices online.
Argos, for instance, is already informing customers that the consoles will not be available at all until next year.
