Your support makes all the difference.This year's entry to the Call of Duty series, the Cold War era Black Ops, vaulted to number one on the Steam charts by Monday, November 15, while Two Worlds 2 and Fallout: New Vegas were hitting the heights elsewhere.
Day one retail sales for Black Ops stood at 5.6 million in North America and 1.4 million in the UK. Consumer appetite for the franchise was reflected in the Steam Network's chart as the new title took top spot there too.
Consequently, Football Manager 2011 and Fallout: New Vegas each dropped a place, though New Vegas maintained first place in the Direct2Drive top five.
Where Direct2Drive's chart denizens remained unchanged since last week, it was all change at GamersGate. New release Two Worlds 2 went straight to number one, retro remake The Secret of Shinobi was in second, and a sale offer on Majesty 2 and its expansions saw the medieval strategy occupy the other three chart places.
Customers at Impulse also benefited from the Majesty 2 deal, and interest in the pre-release version of MinerWars 2081 remained strong - though it can also be bought direct from minerwars.com.
Good Old Games' chart showcases the popularity of two classics from the turn of the century, with Neverwinter Nights and Planescape: Torment parked in second and third position there. The Jagged Alliance game rides high thanks to a giveaway promotion.
