Technology and Video Games events in October are headed by the Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) in Japan, the Games Developer Conference (GDC) in China, the GITEX Shopper & Consumer Electronics Expo in Dubai and the International CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment in San Diego.

International CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment is the Fall edition of the CTIA show that focuses on mobile technology and wireless media applications for mobile business. Over 15,000 professionals and 250 exhibitors are expected to attend this year's event. Companies will demo the latest in enterprise solutions and emerging mobile entertainment technology. Mobile ex Showstoppers and Mobile Entertainment Live! will also take place under the header of CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment.

Windows Mobile 6.5 released worldwide

Microsoft Corp. will launch a new brand, "Windows Phone," that will group together phones running its Windows Mobile software and a new version of their mobile operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5 on October 6. Windows Phones, made by leading phone manufactures including HP, HTC Corp., LG Electronics, Sony Ericsson and Samsung among others, will feature Windows Mobile 6.5 with LG's GM750 to be the first to feature the software when it is released on October 6.
