Nokia today launched the latest handset in its Lumia collection as it battled to regain ground lost to its competitors. Here is a look at some of the 925's major rivals in the smartphone market.

Apple's iPhone 5

* The latest iPhone handset has been hailed for its neat aluminium body

* The slim device weighs just 112g and is 7.6mm thick

* It features a 4in (10.16cm) display

* The phone's screen has a resolution of 326 pixels-per-inch

* The device features an eight megapixel camera

* Battery life allows up to eight hours of talk time or browsing on a mobile data connection

Samsung Galaxy S4

* The latest Samsung phone features “touchless” technology and can be controlled by its user's eyes

* A “smart pause” function allows the user to stop a video by looking away

* The screen measures 5in (12.5cm)

* The handset weighs 130g and is 7.9mm thick

* It is equipped with a 13 megapixel camera and can take two different pictures at once
