From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.According to reports from insider videogame news site IndustryGamers, the imminent November 10 release of Modern Warfare 2 is causing American retailer GameStop to experience the largest pre-order demand in its history.
GameStop, which operates over 6,200 stores and also owns the EB Games and Micromania brands, said that they received "more pre-orders on this game than all of the games that were sold system-wide globally on the last Call of Duty ( World at War) in its first month. This is clearly going to be the biggest entertainment release of our history."
Modern Warfare 2 is released worldwide for Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 with a multitude of retail options available starting from $59.99 / €59.99 / £54.99. There are also companion versions being made available for Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS.
