Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Wii version will allow four players to take part at once, while the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games will include variations on a sing-along mode.
Eleven of the game's 40 songs have been revealed, ranging from 2 Unlimited's "No Limit" to Katy Perry's "California Gurls" via the Duck Sauce hit "Barbra Streisand."
Also in the mix are "Pump It" (Black Eyed Peas), "Boogie Wonderland" (Groove Century), "What You Waiting For" (Gwen Stefani), "I Was Made For Lovin' You" (Kiss), "Giddy On Up" (Laura Bell Bundy), "Party Rock Anthem" (LMFAO), "Lollipop" (MIKA), and "Dynamite" (Taio Cruz).
Just Dance 3 has picked the same debut date as Electronic Arts' FIFA 12 and Microsoft Game Studios' Forza Motorsport 4, making for a varied week in gaming households.
Though the successful musical series has yet to pick up Lady Gaga's song "Just Dance," this third in the series has managed to recruit Katy Perry to its promotional cause for the game's first trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMOUlROUepY.
