From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

MI6 agent James Bond is to make an appearance at San Diego's July 21-24 Comic-Con, with Activision touting a new 007 game for the event.

That could well take the form of a new entry to the GoldenEye series which, in 1997, was a hugely successful entry to the now-dominant first person shooter genre.

While it then starred Pierce Brosnan, it was Daniel Craig who took center stage in the Wii's 2010 remake.

So one possibility is that the new 007 title is GoldenEye Reloaded, supported by various web domain registrations that cropped up late June.

Also present at Comic Con will be Activision's Prototype 2, Spider-Man: Edge of Time and X-Men Destiny, along with Soulcalibur V, Voltron, and a Mass Effect movie panel.
