Now, users on gtaforums.com have managed to extract 42-hours of audio thought to be the soundtrack for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V.
The music was extracted from a digital pre-order version of the game released by Sony in Europe to help deal with stress on servers during release day. The file is now no longer available to download, which suggests that the music found within it was legitimate.
Many GTA enthusiasts have been sorting out the songs into relevant stations, with Reddit user BankerShanker amassing a fairly comprehensive list.
Radio stations include West Coast Classics, with plenty of tracks from the likes of N.W.A., Snoop Dogg and 2Pac; a grouping of Classic Rock including Steve Miller Band, Elton John, Queen and Stevie Wonder; and an eponymously named station full of tracks produced by Belgium duo Soulwax.
There's also a number of punk tracks from bands such as Suicidal Tendencies, Black Flag and the Descendents and a rounded pop selection including Pet Shop Boys, Rihanna, Britney Spears and Hall & Oates.
Although it hasn’t yet found its way into all the listings online, it’s also been previously confirmed that French house artist Kavinsky will be curating his own station named NightRide FM. Kavinsky’s dark-wave style synths and beats found popular acclaim after he provided the title track ‘Nightcall’ for the 2011 film Drive.

Sony have since described the leak of assets as 'regrettable' and said apologised to "Rockstar and GTA fans across the world". The game's developer Rockstar also released a statement, saying they were "deeply disappointed by leaks and spoilers being spread in advance of the game's launch."
