From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Fifa 16 demo is available, and players are already detailing the changes from last year’s version of the game.

The download went live overnight and will be available until sometime on the 10th.

The demo has been released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, all the same platforms that will get the game when it is released. The PS3 and Xbox 360 won’t get access to all of the features.

The full game will be released on September 22.

The demo gives players the option to play exhibition games with four minute halves, or ultimate team games with six minute halves.

It lets players try games with Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Chelsea FC, Inter, Milan, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid CF, River Plate and Seattle Sounders. The two women’s teams from Germany and the United States will also be available.

Borussia-Park, the CenturyLink Field and Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu are all in the demo.

The game features new celebrations, including the option to run over to the substitutes and have them join in.

The game also adds a “Timber” celebration where the player stands still and falls backwards, a chest thump and glamour slide, where players slide on their knees with their hands on the back of their heads.

Those come with new animations of the players and movements, which include more realistic faces as well as the inclusion of Messi’s arm tattoos — though apparently nobody else’s.

Some players have already tried the women’s teams — perhaps the biggest headline feature of the new release. Players said that playing with women was very different to with men, and appeared to be more fast-paced.

Small changes appear to have been made to the gameplay, including improvements to the skills of keepers and a general slowing down of the pace of games — which is even more noticeable when players get tired.

Goalkeepers had been one of players big complaints about recent games, and Redditors who had played the game said that some improvements seemed to have been made. Many of the big problems have been fixed by making them a little more aggressive, but some small issues remain.

Those changes — as well as some small changes to the shooting dynamic— make it much harder to score, some have reported.

Slowing down the pace seems to have had the effect of increasing the importance of tactics, since the often reliable strategy of just running hard and plowing through defenders seems to have been removed.

Passing also appears to have been made more difficult, with many players reporting that they must work harder to ensure that they go to their intended recipient. Some early players described that as the biggest change on the game, and perhaps the most significant change to the passing engine in all of the series.
