The name of American child star "Macaulay Culkin" grabs second place on Twitter's trending topics after news broke that he and longtime partner Mila Kunis have gone their separate ways.

A link to a Gizmodo article about "magic" wristband manufacturer PowerBalance admitting there is "no credible scientific evidents that supports our claims" is circling the Twittersphere, causing the phrase "PowerBalance Admits Their" Wristbands Are a Scam to land in third place.

Lifetime movie The " Craigslist Killer" takes fourth place, "CONFIESO PUBLICAMENTE" (Spanish for "public confession") is in sixth place, and German heavy metal band "Heaven Shall Burn" is in seventh place.

Twitter tributes are flowing for English actor Pete Postlethwaite after the Oscar nominee lost his fight with cancer at the age of 64.

The hashtags "#youknowyouafreak," "#dearamerica" and "#thingsthatmakemesmh" are in the last three places in Twitter's list of most talked about topics.
