Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The 7th annual IMGA ceremony is due to take place on February 17, 2011, the last night of this year's prestigious Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and its People's Choice Award is one of seven accolades up for grabs.

Anyone can vote for the best mobile game of the past year in each of six categories, as well as their overall favorite - all they have to do is register with the IMGA website for access.

Among the nominees are well known titles such as Fruit Ninja, Plants vs Zombies, Championship Manager 2011 and Let's Golf 2, EpicWin, Infinity Blade and Real Racing 2.

There are also less well-known but equally impressive titles shortlisted, so those in need of a little mobile distraction could do worse than check out these and the selection panel's other recommendations.

The available categories are Best Casual Game, Best Real World Game, Best Sports Game, Excellence in Design, Excellence in Gameplay, and Most Innovative Game.
