From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The PlayStation 3 mystery game Blue Toad Murder Files is offering its first episode for free to those with accounts on the European and North American PlayStation Network Stores.

The European offer runs until April 27, while it will feature on the North American store between April 19 and May 3.

The downloadable game is a murder mystery for one to four players, set in the fictional British town of Little Riddle.

The full season runs to six episodes: each is supposed to last between one and two hours, though sharper minds may roll through a little faster.

If players like Episode One, they can grab the Episode 2-6 Upgrade Bundle at a special price of £7.19 / €8.99 / $9.99 until the deals conclude.

Another recent episodic game, Back to the Future, adopted a similar strategy earlier in April, releasing the PC and Mac versions' first of five episodes for nothing, and without Blue Toad's time limit.
